Mass 47 clumped isotope signatures in modern lacustrine authigenic carbonates in Western China and other regions and implications for paleotemperature and paleoelevation reconstructions

With the development of carbonate clumped isotope (?47) geothermometer, many ?47–temperature calibrations based on biogenic and abiogenic carbonates have been generated in recent years. However, there is still not a robust empirical calibration relationship derived from lacustrine authigenic that can be used to calculate lake water temperatures ?47 values. In this study, we present new dataset comprised measurements composition 33 collected terminal lakes primarily Western China cover substantial altitudinal gradient, 5 samples other regions. These data allow us directly derive temperature for carbonates.
